Calculating the percent of a number is simple, but can be a bit tricky if you aren't careful. Luckily, it only requires a few basic operations to get to the solution: multiplication and division. **Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 119 is. We know that 100% of 119 is, well, just 119.**Step 2:**If 100% of 119 is 119, then we can get 1% of 119 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 119 / 100. This is equal to 1.19. Now we know that 1% is 1.19.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 119 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 1.19 times 1 = 1.19. That's all there is to it!
